Fifth placed KCB welcome seventh placed Homeboyz to the Lions Den in Ruaraka, ironically the scene of Homeboyz’ 20-15 win over Strathmore Leos on match day two. Pau Murunga, the Homeboyz player/coach was part of the all conquering KCB squad that dominated the Kenya Cup between 2005 and 2007. He has in his ranks a number of ex-KCB players including Harun Lubisia, Steve Matioli, Keith Kibira and Leon Mugaisi and one can only imagine the intensity of the battle when this match gets underway on Saturday 17 November 2012.
Hosts KCB, who opened their campaign with a big 49-3 win away to Machine have in their opening, have Ken Isindu and Ian Indimuli who have previously featured for Homeboyz in their ranks. A second successive win will be on the bankers’ minds but they should be wary of the threat posed by their visitors, a threat stemming from the fact that these sides know each other quite well.
Expect a furious battle upfront, and as is the case with quite a number of the weekend’s fixtures, the side establishing dominance in the forwards will most likely emerge victorious at the close of business on Saturday evening.
